We’re working on an idea that could make managing nodes easier and more accessible for you all : a Node-Manager.
But before we dive into development, we really want to hear what you think.
Here’s the idea :
The idea behind the Node-Manager is to create a tool that helps you manage your nodes in a more intuitive and straightforward way.
For example, it could let you :
Monitor your node’s performance in real-time
Get alerts if something goes wrong
Optimize your node settings with less hassle
Enable auto-buy of rolls when 100 MAS is reached so you don’t need to worry about it
So, we want to know :
Would a tool like this be useful to you ?
What features would be a must-have for a Node-Manager ?
What challenges do you face when managing your node today ?
Would this motivate you to become a node-runner if you’re not one already ?
What if we added One-Click Node Installation ?
We’re also considering adding something really exciting to the Node-Manager : one-click node installation.
This feature would make it incredibly simple for anyone to get their node up and running without worrying about the technical setup.
Do you know anyone who would consider becoming a node-runner if setting up a node was as easy as a single click, but who’s hesitant right now because of the technical complexity ?
Do you think this feature could help onboard more people who are currently intimidated by the installation process ?
Would a one-click installation change your approach to running a node or make you more likely to recommend it to others ?
How much of a difference do you think this would make in increasing the number of node-runners in the Massa community ?
Let us know your thoughts !
Your feedback is key to making this tool as useful as possible for everyone.
Looking forward to hearing from you !
Actually, I already use these things in my nodes. The nodes I set up buy automatically when there are 100 mas.
Thanks to the Telegram bot, I can follow all the developments. Incredible comfort and convenience.
Of course, I didn’t install it with a single click, and if you do this and collect these conveniences in one place, it would be beyond perfect. I like this idea very much.
By the way, thank you very much to my friend who installed the telegram Massa Acheta bot.
A one-click node installation is essential if we aim to scale to 100k nodes on Massa. It would be a significant step forward in making the network accessible to the masses. Additionally, features like automatic roll purchases, an IP updater for users without static IPs, and server performance monitoring are crucial. Alerts for when hardware resources exceed 90%, especially for nodes contributing disk space to the network, would greatly enhance reliability and user experience.
Yes and yes. The Thyra tool was going toward that idea and we need to revive that idea.
Massa targets Massadoption. To achieve this, we must make Massa nodes and staking as easy and simple possible. In fact, we must be THE most technology literacy agnostic blockchain. It must pass the granny test meaning that anyone should be able to run a node via one-click.
Here the MUST:
Everything that is already mentioned plus:
One-click install: Yes, essential, seamless setup process for all platforms and Crypto neophy beginner-friendly interface is essential for Massa Adoption. Right now it’s reserved to a very small knowledgeable population of the crypto space.
Cross-platform support: Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
Mobile OS nodes: We need a light node mode to get on mobile OS. Those light nodes would do light tasks while desktop ones would focus more on DeWeb.
Auto-updates: Automatic software and security patch updates seamlessly.
Optimization: Allow customization for adaptability for low bandwidth, high latency, etc… for developing countries. AI infused optimization would be a plus.
Educational content: Tutorials and videos on node installation , optimization and benefits.
Reward smaller nodes: Most people won’t have many rolls. The Robinhood idea should be looked at and added to the whole approach.
NICE to have:
Nice visual and stats: For nerds and people that like stats and visual, show the live block and sharding, and be able to see my contribution, see my stats and others stats, etc… The Massadoption webpage is a great example of fun stuff to see.
Gamification: Leveraging ASCs and evolving NFTs to see the Massa forest grow on a map. An incentives and badges for running nodes, longer you run, taller you tree, more staking, more leaves, achieving goals give decorative items for your tree, etc…
